Analyzing Soil Health to Maximize the Potential of Your Wichita Landscaping
To determine how best to modify the soil of your property to help grass grow, the professionals at Meadowlark assess your soil’s health through pH testing and more.
Our tests determine the type of grass that will grow best on your land and provide us with the data necessary to know whether you need us to modify your overly-acidic or overly-alkaline soil.
Lawn Seeding FAQs
When is the best time to seed my lawn?
We recommend seeding your lawn in the fall, which is when grass seed tends to germinate more reliably. Combine seeding your lawn with aeration for best results. Dormant seeding over the winter can also help your lawn grow, although autumn seeding tends to have better results.
My dogs destroy my grass. What can I do?
Owning dogs shouldn’t dictate how healthy your lawn is. Specialized grass seeds and fertilization can help protect your lawn from brown spots and heavy traffic. Ask us how.
What is the purpose of aeration and verticutting?
Verticutting removes thatch build-up on your lawn, so your turf breathes better. It also helps your grass absorb nutrients and moisture more efficiently - both of which are necessary for germinating new grass seed.
Similarly, aeration can help remedy soil compaction, encourage your grass roots to grow deeper, and increase absorption and use water and fertilizer.
